Aalto University’s Dipoli welcomed hundreds of guests – leading figures from the technology and science sectors, as well as the business world – to celebrate the 2024 Millennium Technology Prize winner, professor Baliga, and to discuss societal impact of technology at the Millennium Technology Prize Forum.

The Award Ceremony brought together more than 400 guests from academia, business, government, and diplomacy, as well as promising young researchers.

Three young talents were recognized at the Millennium Young Scientist Contest

Bahar Mostafiz (University of Turku), Nidia Obscura Acosta (University of Helsinki), and Aysen Degerli Ahishali (VTT) were recognized at the 2024 Millennium Young Scientist Contest.

The Millennium Young Scientist Contest offers emerging researchers a platform to present their work and make new connections. Participants representing Millennium Technology Prize partners have three minutes to give a pitch on how their research helps to solve a contemporary problem, promoting technological innovations for a better life. The contest is open for participants selected by our partners and stakeholders from the Millennium Technology Prize partner companies, partnering universities, and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland.
